Privacy
Flashkept runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF is read into memory on your device, rendered, redacted and re-saved there. No file bytes are ever sent to a server.
What leaves your device
Only requests for the app's own static files (HTML, JavaScript, fonts). A Content-Security-Policy restricts network connections to this origin, so the page cannot post data anywhere else.
What "Hard burn" does
Each page is rasterized, redactions are painted into the pixels, and a brand-new image-only PDF is built. Original text, links, forms, annotations and metadata are not carried over.
What "Visual blackout" does not do
It only draws rectangles over the original content. The text underneath stays in the file and can be recovered. It is for markup, not secure redaction.
What a hard-burned PDF is
An image-only document: one picture per page. It has no selectable or searchable text, no links, forms, bookmarks or attachments, and it is larger than the original. That is the trade for certainty that nothing underneath survives.
Limits
Flashkept cannot delete the original file from your disk, prevent screenshots, or clear copies kept elsewhere.
